We have successfully obtained and now defended the IFS Food standard certificate. This certificate is proof that we purposefully and consistently pay attention to the quality and safety of all our products.
What is IFS Food?
The IFS Food (International Featured Standards for Food) standard is based on the rules of good manufacturing and hygiene practices, hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), and other legislative requirements.
The IFS Food certificate is a highly recognized award for companies involved in food production. It is proof that we do things right - from start to finish, from selecting raw materials to packaging products.
How did we achieve this?
The certification process was neither quick nor easy, but it was worth it. We had to take a few key steps:
- SELF-ASSESSMENT: First, we had to thoroughly review all our processes, the operation of the entire production, and ourselves to identify areas for improvement.
- DOCUMENTATION: Everything we do, how we do it, and why we do it must be carefully recorded. It is necessary to keep records and complete documentation of all procedures, processes, and management systems.
- INDEPENDENT AUDIT: Then came an independent auditor, in our case a female auditor, who spent two full days at our production facility and conducted a thorough inspection of production processes, storage, distribution, and documentation.
- CORRECTIVE MEASURES: If the audit reveals any (even minor) deficiencies, it is necessary to correct what is needed and also make any necessary changes to processes or documentation.
To maintain the certificate, a regular independent audit is required, usually once a year.
What are the levels of the certification standard?
There are two: "Higher Level" and "Standard Level". And we are proud to say that we have repeatedly achieved the higher one! This means we are truly among the best.
