Fluidum capsules with liquid extract inside were developed as a result of our desire to further utilize existing coffee machines. These capsules are specifically designed for brewing delicious herbal and classic teas and allow for the preparation of a quality beverage at the touch of a single button.
So why are capsules filled with loose-leaf tea or dried herbs not suitable for brewing tea in a capsule coffee machine?
One of the main reasons is the specific need for different water temperatures for different types of teas. While black tea requires water almost at boiling point, for green teas, a lower water temperature is ideal to prevent scorching the leaves and subsequent significant bitterness of the beverage. Capsule coffee machines are designed for brewing coffee, which requires a specific water temperature (water in these machines is typically heated to around 86°C to 89°C) and pressure, which does not always correspond to the ideal conditions for extracting the best flavors and aromas from tea leaves.
Another reason is the limitation in manipulating brewing time, which varies for different types of teas. Capsule systems offer quick and consistent preparation but do not allow for adjusting the brewing time of tea according to personal preferences.
Brewing herbal tea in capsule coffee machines presents another set of challenges that go beyond the general problems associated with water temperature and brewing time, typical for black or green teas. Herbal teas often consist of various dried herbs, flowers, spices, and other natural ingredients, and require specific brewing conditions for optimal release of their aromas and active components. These conditions can vary significantly depending on the type and combination of herbs used.
The specifics of herbal teas, such as the need for longer brewing times and lower water temperatures for some types of herbs, to avoid damaging their delicate flavor profiles and therapeutic properties, contradict the basic characteristics of capsule coffee machines. These are designed for quick and high-pressure beverage preparation, which is ideal for coffee but not for herbal teas.
In contrast, Fluidum capsules with liquid herbal and tea extract, compatible with the Nespresso® system, represent an innovative solution that addresses these problems and challenges. Fluidum respects the specific needs of individual ingredients during the extraction phase, so thanks to the precise dosage and concentration of the liquid extract, Fluidum capsules can offer consistent quality and taste of the resulting beverage, without the need to worry about the correct water temperature or brewing time.
This method of preparation provides convenience and speed without compromising the taste or quality of the finished beverage.
